Amidst the brouhaha on social media after Bucky Raw management demanded $10,000 USD from MLMA in order for the artist to perform at their upcoming awards ceremony, we’ve been reliably informed that several other Liberian artist took up their chances to clutch on the $1000 USD proposed budget made to book artist for their performances at the awards show this year.
Our source revealed to us the names of some top and trending Liberian artist that saw the need to promote the culture as usual whilst also advocating for improvements therein.
In a chitchat with one of the artist who agreed to perform at the awards show this year, he said:
“Bro it’s not all about the money, if we want to change things we must be a part. You can’t criticize from afar without taking steps within to make sure your criticism takes effect and is being utilized. Entertainment is politics in its self and as for me I’m always willing to promote the culture at any time. So let’s forget about the money though is small for my status but we gotta support our own that’s the only way we can change things.”
